Reiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle and non-invasive. It is not stressing to the animal, in fact it is very relaxing. Animals seem to respond intuitively to Reiki's power to heal emotional, behavioral, and physical illnesses and injuries. Reiki does not replace regular or holistic veterinary care, but complements it. Animal Reiki with Margaret may also include Animal Communication if appropriate. Advantages of Reiki for Animals
In Person SessionsAnimal Reiki practitioners have found that the animal may relax and benefit more from the treatment when they are comfortable. In person treatments are best done at their home or barn, therefore Margaret will come to you for your animal's treatment. Note that we call these "in person" rather than "hands on" treatments because they are often done "hands off." If the animal prefers hands on, he or she is allowed to indicate how and where they would like to receive Reiki. This is quite different from the usual way of doing Reiki treatments with people using standard hand positions. In person Animal Reiki Sessions are not currently available. Please consider a distant Reiki Session. Distant Healing Sessions for AnimalsDistant treatments can be very effective and are at times preferable to in person treatments. In this type of treatment, the animal remains at home and Margaret offers Reiki from her home. Sometimes animals that are not open to in person treatments will accept a distant treatment. And of course distant treatments can be offered when it is not practical for Margaret to travel to do an in person treatment. Suggested Treatment Programs and CostsA series of 3 sessions, ideally on consecutive days, is an excellent way to start especially with very ill or injured animals. These treatments may be in person or distant treatments or a mix of the two. For example, the first treatment could be done in person and subsequent sessions as distant Reiki, or they may all be in person or all distant. Maintenance sessions are scheduled as needed. If a series is not feasible, a single treatment may also be very effective. The cost of a Reiki session depends on the length of the session and is the same for animals and for people. Please see the Reiki Sessions page for details then call Margaret at 423-266-6006 to schedule your animal's Reiki session. Margaret Dexter is a trained Animal Reiki Practitioner.
